Winter Makeup Tips For Women

Winter's light is whiter and fewer yellow than summer light, therefore it is apparent your color boost originated from product rather than the sun.  This season, the frosty shades and tinsel-like shine of winters past have left.

There's a difference between summer makeup and winter make-up, which is definitely noticed. Each months are an opportunity for different fun with makeup. From preparation right shades and tones, below are great tips on pulling from the perfect winter look.

Switch your primer with moisturizer

Primers are amazing products to help keep foundation on, but makeup doesn’t exactly melt off your face in the winter the way it does in the summer.   If you are going dancing and know that you will sweat, then apply moisturizer before you apply primer.   Make sure the moisturizer is fully absorbed, or use oil-blotting sheets to remove excess product.   Primer acts as a guard between your skin and makeup, so you still need to pay attention to hydrating your skin.

Flatter your vision with subtle makeup.

Winter's bold, bright look is centered on lips or cheeks. When you don't want to overlook your vision, you will want to enhance all of them with neutral makeup tips. First, provide them with a bit of a boost by making use of a thin black line having a cream or liquid liner not far from the lash line. Define the crease of the lid with a neutral shade of brown or gray shadow. Apply having a crease brush inside a half-moon shape. Curl your lashes, after which apply two coats of black mascara.

Choose from your cheeks or lips for that bold pop of color

For those who have full lips with pout to spare, choose an assertive mouth. In case your cheekbones are high, do an incredible blush flush. Pick just one area or you'll look overdone. For the color choices, think flowers and fruit instead of jewels -- juicy red, rosy pink, ripe peach. Fair-skinned ladies look very best in cooler pastel shades, while darker beauties should select warm, blue-based shades.

Playing your cheeks? Moderation is essential

Apply too much color and you will look like you have windburn. Apply not enough and the effect doesn't pack enough punch. Most cream formulas possess a sheen finish, so select a powder blush, which layers beautifully over matte skin. By having an angled blush brush, use the color right along your cheekbone. Accumulating color slowly instead of heaping it on could keep you from looking clownish. Finish having a slight touch of color to lips.

Add richer moisturizers for your skin care regimen

Those whipping winds outside and dry heating indoors can leave your skin parched and chapped. Matte foundation can become popular these dry patches, which means you need to make sure your skin is plumped up and well-hydrated. Applying a thick moisturizer each morning can add sheen to some matte face; instead, hydrate before going to bed with a luxurious extra-emollient night cream.

Go matte with minimal product

Yes, you'll need a new foundation for winter. Stick to the dewy base you utilized in summer and you'll have to layer on plenty of powder to dull the sheen. Instead, select a matte textured foundation inside your exact shade and apply sparingly. Place it with a light dusting of translucent powder applied having a large, loosely bristled powder brush.

Target to Collaborate with Toronto Fashion Incubator

Target has partnered with the Toronto Fashion Incubator for its annual TFI New Label Fashion design competition.

The contest, which has been running since 1992, invites young Canadian designers to submit their fashion to be judged by a panel of industry experts.

With this year’s partnership, the winner will have the added bonus of having his or her line carried across soon-to-open Canadian Target locations in 2014.

“Target has a longstanding commitment to great design and supporting the communities in which we do business,” said John Morioka, SVP merchandising, Target, in a release. The announcement was made at a special TFI dinner hosted by its executive director Susan Langdon.

The incubator is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping young fashion designers giving them a space to work and mentorship.

The first batch of Target locations will open in March 2013, with marketing efforts expected to hit the streets in the new year.

Hair Removal Trends For Men

Chest hair, body hairs, pubic / genital hair removal, nasal hairs, hairy back, underarm hair removal, back crack and sack, shaving gels, oils & creams, male waxing products, skin problems, shaving rash, ingrowing hairs, permanent hair removaland more questions! Male grooming is really a vast topic and also the cause of much anguish to numerous men.

But home hair removal and male grooming could be easy & and effective if you select the correct technique and merchandise. It's not just a question of cost; personal home treatments in many cases are more hygienic than salons where products / appliances are utilized repeatedly. While this is a general guide, keep in mind, that every person is unique and for that reason you may need to bend the guidelines a little maybe make use of a little bit more of an item, maybe try a depilatory rather than waxing. You will also find some products / hair removal tips are more effective on you than others. For those who have tried waxing and didn’t enjoy it, don’t give up there are many differing types / qualities of waxing products.

Facial Hair

Whenever you shave, start by washing the face with a mild cleanser--otherwise any debris and dirt on your face go ahead your pores, where it may cause clogs and breakouts, says Anthony Sosnick, founding father of the men’s grooming brand Anthony Logistics, in Details magazine. You may also skip exfoliators on days you shave, since brushing in your shaving cream and shaving are generally effective ways to remove the dead skin cells, according to Details. When you are choosing a shaving cream, Details recommends bypassing super-foamy creams, such as the ones that come in aerosol cans, and selecting gels or creams in bottles and tubes--you desire a thin lubricating layer that's simple for your razor to slip through, rather than a fluffy coating of shaving cream.

Body Hair

The easiest method to remove hair on your body depends upon where the unwanted hair is situated, according to Men's Fitness magazine. Go for depilatory cream if you're removing hair in hard-to-shave spots, much like your knuckles, ankles or toes, and rinse instead of scrubbing any residue away when you are finished to reduce chance of ingrown hairs. An electrical trimmer is a good choice for your arms and legs when you wish to trim hair instead of remove it entirely. If you are going for hair-free arms or legs, wax is the best bet, and you should have a mild pain reliever, for example aspirin, before your wax to lessen inflammation.

Other Hair

Don't ignore onto your nose hairs--people really do notice when they're poorly groomed, says makeup. You are able to tackle the trimming yourself having a nose hair clipper or use tweezers to pluck out individual hairs. Roberts also says you should not neglect your eyebrows and recommends using a professional work on them. Give your eyebrow stylist know you wouldn't want your eyebrows shaped, just cleared up, and be sure to brush them every single day with an eyebrow brush.

Rihanna's Styled To Rock Has Not Been Axed

Rihanna's television venture Styled To Rock has reportedly been axed after just one series following poor ratings.

The Sky Living show, which pitted wannabe designers against one another, was hosted by designer Henry Holland and Girls Aloud member Nicola Roberts, with executive producer Rihanna making brief appearances for a few of the 10 episodes.

ratings of below 79,000, as well as logistical problems surrounding Rihanna's hectic schedule - which prevented the pop star from appearing on the show as much as originally planned - meant the much-hyped show never quite met expectations.

"Rihanna's diary was manic, and to be honest, after it struggled for viewers it was always going to be difficult to get her to agree to do another series," a source told the paper.

The winner of the series - which whittled down 12 wannabe fashion designers through a number of high-profile design commissions for world-famous music acts like Kanye West - got to dress Rihanna for her performance at this summer's Wireless Festival.

A Sky Living spokeswoman said that it is currently "far too early to make a decision if the show would return for a second series."

Despite the reported axing of the London-based show from the Sky Living channel, it has apparently been sold to the US Style Network without Rihanna on board, although there is no word on whether Roberts and Holland will continue as hosts.

Cricket king Michael Clarke shows us his trunk

CRICKET great Michael Clarke gives entertainment editor-at-large Melissa Hoyer an exclusive look at his newest baby.
Sport-met-style today as Australian cricket captain and three-time Allan Border recipient Michael Clarke announced he would auction his designer cricket trunk, created by French fashion house Louis Vuitton.
But he says he is definitely not giving away his baggy green cap or cricket captain jacket.
“I will be wearing those for quite a while longer, I hope,’’ he smiled, as he fastidiously talked me through his latest creation.
Michael  Clarke is currently sporting a nasty and fairly noticeable forehead gash, not from a blinder of a fast ball but from an innocent gardening incident at his Southern Highlands home.
“Oh, I didn’t think you would notice!’’ he laughed.
The intensively private sports star was riding solo this morning before being joined by his glamorous model wife, Kyly, at the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
The dynamic pair have thrown themselves into charity cheerleading, especially for sick children, Kyly volunteering at the hospital for the last 12 months.
The cricket trunk, once ominously called a cricket ‘coffin’ (in the olden days) has a reserve price of $170,000. But when bidding continues tonight, at an A-list party in the ultra-smart Louis Vuitton Sydney store, there are hopes potential bidders will be fuelled with a few glasses of French champagne. With Christie’s auction house at the auction helm, the price could go as high as $300,000 or, judging by his popularity in India, it could go a lot higher.
The newly made ‘trunk’ took eight months to make in France, under the direction of Clarke, and then made by one Vuitton craftsperson.
It includes drawers and compartments specially to hold bats, boots, hats, pads, gloves, a helmet and even features a portable BOSE sound system and iPod dock.
“I always listen to music before I play, so it was essential I included that in the truck.’’
Every cent of the auctioned cricket trunk sale price will go to the Sydney Children’s Hospital, a cause supported by both Michael and Kyly, who has just scored a fashion deal with established fashion house, Harris Scarfe.
The glam pair spent this afternoon at the children's hospital before getting on their finest designer gear for tonight’s fundraising soiree.
“If I can use my reputation to make sick kids happy, then that is the least I can do. And the money raised by Louis Vuitton, that will then be given to the hospital so it can make a mighty big difference," he said.

Hairstyle Trends For Men

Men’s hairstyles are increasingly inspired by catwalks, particularly using the launch of London Collections: Men - the dedicated men’s fashion week that has ensured that grooming receives just as much attention as women’s catwalk looks.

From classically groomed looks inspired by heritage styles and traditional techniques to edgy, experimental colourful finishes having a more high-fashion feel.

With hair trends for Spring/Summer 2012 leaning toward the long side you'll finally have the ability to save a buck or two. Jil Sander, Burberry Prorsum, Dries Van Noten, Lv and Hermes showed low side parts, layered crowns and long bangs.

Short takes

The majority of today's male celebrities took the shorter route, with all-around short, "neat" hair. It's really no fuss, and might simply require some pomade or perhaps a similar grooming product allow it a bit of style. It all depends how short you want to go, as there's short after which there's the almost shaven, almost crew cut both of them are acceptable

Medium messiness

You may also sport a medium-length hairdo. Be it longer at the back and much more controlled on top or medium-length throughout can be you -- but it's much more about what you choose to do by using it. You could make it messy and provide it that "just got up out of bed look," or you might wear it natural and allow it to fall as it would. Just then add pomade or any styling product which will give your hair some texture and movement.

Classic Grooming

Inspired by Old Hollywood glamour and modern grooming icons like David Beckham and Don Draper, side-parted styles, high-shine product-heavy looks and rockabilly quiffs all came out this season.

Spike

Referred to as sexy 'messy' look, this style is simple to achieve and takes a shorter period than you take to clean your teeth. Based from the high and tight, then add gel and use your fingers allow it that 'just out of bed' look. Varying lengths of hair on the top give great creativity options, leaving room for your own personel sense of style.

Crew Cut

For any comfortable no hassle style, almost always there is the ever present crew cut. Your barber simply buzzes it right down to your desired length and shape. Usually associated with military, police, highway patrol, or servicemen, this style provides a sense of strength, authority, and confidence.

Texture Styles

For slightly longer hair, falling within the medium length category, texture is paramount. With hair reaching 3 to 4 inches and mimicking past hairstyles, adding hair pomade or special gels provides you with a daring look. Kick the style up a notch with a few color or lightening techniques, giving your cut that razors edge appeal.

Adding Length

Using the textured styles one step further by adding some length has become the very latest in hair trends for men. Giving a rather messy look with another handful of inches added to your hair, you get a full increase in texture and cut. The shorn edges provide the razor cut new popularity while providing you with a chance to relax your style. Pomade, gel, and lots of natural hair care products help to keep those longer locks wherever you want them.

"For the models, the majority of them black, it's also an occasion to get on the catwalk since most of the shows look for more expensive white models -- some of whom dropped out of 'Black Fashion Week' to do better-paying gigs," she said.

Skin care in the Winter is among the worst times for that skin to become dry and irritated. The wind and cold weather can enjoy havoc with sensitive skin making dry skin red and tight. The colder it might be outside the more you need to consider changing how you care for your skin.

The nights are attracting, the days getting shorter and summer clothing is starting to get packed away, scarves are earning a come back. Clearly the season take presctiption a cusp and alter is in the air. Soon, the central heating will creak back again and hot/cold temperatures will begin to play havoc on skin.

With winter now well and truely here, it’s time to batten down the hatches with regards to protecting and taking care of our skin. We’ve compiled a summary of the Top 5 Winter Skin Care Tips that will help you do just that.

Moisturise to safeguard

Dry skin is one of the consequences of cold weather, with it comes a duller complexion, which nobody wants. Using a body lotion which contains glycerin and vitamin E helps you to lock moisture in and from the invasive cold winter air, fight signs of ageing by reducing wrinkles and fine lines, and helps rid the skin of poisons. Vitamin E’s anti-inflammatory agents are the perfect skin healers, and just suitable for soothing skin that’s been exposed to the cold winter climate.

Massage

Blood naturally nourishes your skin, but flows less freely when you're cold. Therefore this winter induced poor circulation isn’t great for your skin. A great way to combat this really is with a massage, that can help to improve your body’s circulation. It stimulates blood circulation so that fresh oxygenated blood rushes to each body cell to create a warm, rosy glow towards the skin, helping to keep the skin’s surface healthy.

Eat well

Your lifestyle plays an enormous roll in achieving beautiful skin. There might be a tendency in winter to consume less salad and fruit in return for less nutritious comfort foods. However, you can still eat healthily and feel warm inside. Eat lots of foods containing Ascorbic acid (try red peppers in stir-fries) and Zinc (lentils in soups), because they help the body maintain healthy tissue and therefore are involved in collagen production, protecting cells for free radical damage. Beta carotene (carrots in casseroles or roasted pumpkin) likewise helps repair damage to skin cells.

Hand care

Don’t ever go out with wet hands, as that cold winter chill will quickly leave them chapped and cracked. Be sure you protect the thin layer of skin both hands have against the harsh winter climate by utilizing gloves and a top quality hand cream that’s free of sulphates and parabens, to give the best possible protection.

Hydration

People often drink less water in colder weather since the thought of putting anything cold inside doesn’t appeal. But when you want to maintain a healthy, well nourished glow for the skin, hydration is just as essential in winter as in the summer. Should you don’t fancy water, why not try topping on hot drinks (even cocoa’s a high quality one, as it contains antioxidants). Decaffeinated herb teas are the best for keeping your fluid levels up. Warm water

Now we’ve all experienced those cold mornings when all that's necessary to do is crawl right into a scalding hot shower. From time to time, maybe. But, if you’re carrying this out regularly you will be dehydrating your skin regularly and robbing it of their goodness. You don’t need to steam yourself to have a shower, warm water may be the way forward. You can also use a moisturiser after showering to assist lock in that moisture before towelling off.

Dresses that hid Frida Kahlo's pain come to light decades on

The colorful dresses of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo goes on display for the first time in November after being kept hidden from public view for Half a century at the request of her husband, acclaimed muralist Diego Rivera.

Curators from the Kahlo's "Blue House" in Mexico City discovered a trove of 300 dresses, swimsuits, accessories and photographs in 2004 and therefore are now ready to show the general public 22 items in the unique wardrobe that turned her right into a fashion muse.

The exhibit explores Kahlo's passion for Mexico's indigenous women and her penchant for richly embroidered ethnic frocks, flowery headpieces and ornate silver jewelry that earned her a photograph shoot with Vogue magazine in 1937.

Additionally, it reveals how she chose clothes to cover her disfigurement following a bout of childhood polio that left one leg thinner compared to other and a devastating bus accident that broke her spine in three places and left her in constant pain and scarred from subsequent surgeries.

"We must keep in mind that Frida - like Diego - wanted the colours, the dress, the culture of Mexican women to become public and known," said Carlos Phillips, head from the museums that exhibit Kahlo and Rivera's work.

"They were trying to rescue a people this was abandoned. Mexican society dressed like Europeans. The type of clothes weren't appreciated just as much anymore," he explained.

Kahlo and Rivera are two of Mexico's most celebrated figures, as well as their on-off stormy marriage was one of the most prominent of the Twentieth century art world.

Kahlo, who died from pneumonia in 1954 at 47, led a troubled life fraught with illness and tumultuous love affairs. Part of the Mexican Communist Party, she would be a fierce supporter from the country's traditional culture.
